    Looking at the current trend of movies in Bollywood it seems that the industry is running out on ideas to make films. Every other movie in Bollywood is just replicating hit ideas into all other films and creating a trend we are not sure we should be proud of! The nostalgia of the 90’s is just one of those themes which has gone so overboard in Bollywood films that now it is bothering us.

    Now we are not sure if 90’s is the new retro, but Bollywood is certainly looking at it that way. From many 90’s films being remade to all the hit 90’s hit number becoming the delight of rappers in the industry and being injected in movies of any and every genre, Bollywood is now just over doing it.

    Taking a look at how the nostalgia of 90’s is being choked to death in movies today, the first case has to stand against the remakes or the sequels! From already remade films like Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster Agneepath and the super hit romance Aashiqui  to upcoming films like Judwaa 2, film makers have found something certainly appealing in the ideas to taking is back in time to the ‘good old days’.

    As the trend picks up we don’t know how many more of the 90’s movies we will have to relive in the 21st century. And it’s not like the originals are going somewhere!! And god forbid if these remakes are bad, it pinches us big time to have spent our energies into ruining our perfect little childhood.

    If remakes were not enough, music industry has simply immersed itself into digging out the 90’s beats and making them the new chart busters in Bollywood. Pop music is taking a U turn and coming back on the web now. But instead of creating something new we are simply revisiting and revising old beats as if to prove something to the millennials.

    From Tamma Tamma, Humma Humma, Tu cheez badi hai mast, to Shukbir’s Ishq tera tadpave we have heard it all over again in less than half the year in 2017. Whether it’s the inability to risk new tunes or the desperation for a hit, we do not know but Bollywood has certainly left itself in the 90’s and we see it not coming out of the cocoon of that era anytime soon.

    If that wasn’t enough, fashion is just another area where we feel Bollywood has gone back to seek inspiration from the 90’s. From suspenders to crop tops to cold shoulders, everything that is trending today in fashion is heavily inspired from the 90’s. We know that fashion trends have the ability to turn around and comeback but given the flood of 90’s in the film industry today we would say the timing is perfect!
