Ranked: Bollywood Stars With Most Consecutive 100 Crore Grossers
Ever since the benchmark for determining the success of a film started relying on crossing the 100 crore mark, the box office parameters changed drastically. While the Khans, Akshay, Ajay and Hrithik have predominantly been considered the endorsers of creating the 100, 200 or 300 crore clubs, what differentiates them is the consistency.
The biggest sign of undisputed stardom is consistency and not many in the industry have been able to pull that through. While SRK faltered bigtime last year with Fan and Dear Zindagi being nowhere close to the 100 crore club, Aamir already dented his prospects with Talaash just marginally missing to make the coveted club.
So who’s been able to maintain the best success rate? Let’s find out with the list of actors with most consecutive 100 crore grossers:
Rank 7 – Ajay Devgn (2 Movies)
Bol Bachchan – 2012
Son of Sardar – 2012
While he has a number of 100 crore grossers other than these two, Ajay’s major drawback has been his inconsistency. After every 100 crore hit that he delivers, he follows up with an underwhelming movie.
Rank 6 – Hrithik Roshan (3 Movies)
Agneepath – 2012
Krrish 3 – 2013
Bang Bang – 2014
The total collections of these movies accumulate to around 500 crores and hence Hrithik finds a spot at number five. While movies like ZNMD died down in the range of 90 crores, we all know what happened to movies like Mohenjo Daro.
Rank 5 – Abhishek Bachchan (3 Movies)
Bol Bachchan – 2012
Dhoom 3 – 2013
Happy New Year – 2014
Yes it may come as a shocker but Abhishek Bachchan makes the cut and that too above Hrithik and Ajay. With total collections of these three movies touching almost 600 crores, we place him at rank 4.
Rank 4 – Aamir Khan (3 Movies)
Dhoom 3 - 2013
PK - 2014
Dangal - 2016
With PK and Dangal made it to the 300 crore club, Dhoom 3 too almost made the rare club. With almost 1000 crores of total collections with these three movies, Aamir finds a spot at number 3. Aamir would have had 6 consecutive 100 crore grossers in his kitty had Talaash did a business 6 extra crores.
Rank 3 - Akshay Kumar (5 Movies)
Airlift
Housefull 3
Rustom
Jolly LLB 2
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
Akshay Kumar has found his midas only now in the last couple of years. While he’s always been a premium Bollywood actor, his large count of movies every year has always made him suffer with discrepancy. However all his movies since January last year have been 100 crore grossers.
Rank 2 – Shah Rukh Khan (6 Movies)
Ra.One – 2011
Don 2 – 2012
Jab Tak Hai Jaan – 2012
Chennai Express – 2013
Happy New Year – 2014
Dilwale – 2015
While Shah Rukh was being fairly consistent in delivering back to back 100 crores hits, it was 2016’s Fan that hampered his smooth run. While Dear Zindagi was anyway not expected to earn big, Raees too couldn’t earn big although it did reach the 100 crore mark.
Rank 1 – Salman Khan (13 Movies)
Dabangg – 2010
Ready – 2011
Bodyguard – 2011
Ek Tha Tiger – 2012
Dabangg 2 – 2012
Jai Ho – 2014
Kick – 2014
Bajrangi Bhaijaan - 2015
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – 2015
Sultan – 2016
Tubelight – 2017
Tiger Zinda Hai - 2017
Race 3 - 2018
Salman Bhai would have had his heart in his mouth after Tubelight flickered too much before entering the 100 crore club. With this, Salman Khan has 13 straight 100 crore entrants and he’s the only actor with such a flawless record. No film of his has ever failed to fall short of the popular club and with this he procures the top rank in the list of actors with most consecutive 100 crore hits.
As much as it’s about the delivering the most number of hits, maybe consistency is something that truly defines stardom.
