10 Blockbuster Roles That Aishwarya Rai Rejected Without A Worry
If you too are one of those who think Aishwarya Rai at the peak of her career could have achieved much more than what she did, we have more reasons for you to express your disappointment. What if we tell you Aishwarya could have been seen in Yash Chopra’s iconic Veer-Zara opposite Shah Rukh back in 2004? Surprised?
Well, there have been several occasions when Aishwarya has turned her back on a lot of potentially fruitful prospects right from the 90’s. While she has embraced her acting dimensions through variety of films like Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Hain Sanam, her fans would be wary of the fact that she has indeed missed out on a number of huge opportunities!
Here are 10 blockbuster roles that Aishwarya Rai rejected without a worry:
The 1996 blockbuster with Aamir Khan would have seen Aishwarya had the actress not passed on this role offered to her by Dharmesh Darshan.
Kuch Hota Hota Hai
Before Karan Johar went on a struggling hunch to find someone to play Tina’s character, Aishwarya Rai too was one of those faces who turned down this role.
While she didn’t really pass this role on, the frequent tiffs with Salman Khan on the sets apparently made her walk out of the film herself. Rani was then brought as her replacement.
Munna Bhai MBBS
Losing out on an opportunity to work with Raju Hirani in his first film itself, Aishwarya was cast when Shah Rukh was playing Munnabhai. The lead pair was then completely changed.
One of the costliest misses that later became Preity Zinta’s gain, Aishwarya could have been the lead in Yash Chopra’s Veer-Zaara but it couldn’t work out.
As Rohan Sippy decided to recast the same lead pair of Abhishek and Aishwarya from his debut film Kuch Na Kaho, Aishwarya chose to let it go.
After walking out of Kaho Na Pyar Hai that later became Ameesha Patel’s debut, Aishwarya Rai didn’t consider another offer from the same team.
This is one role we don’t complain for her having walked out of since it really needed the magic of Vidya to pull it off. However, this too could have been a feather in her hat.
The vibrant and colorful character that Katrina played in Namastey London could have been Aishwarya’s had she not chosen to let it go. The character wasn’t particularly to her liking.
While it would have been epic to see her act with her husband who surprisingly had a chemistry set with John, Aishwarya wasn’t particularly too keen to be a part of this project.
Do you think Aishwarya has missed out on a lot? Of course she has! But as they, walking on the Cannes Red Carpet brought her more pleasure than delivering Bollywood hits!
