5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

Jitters, shivers and chills was where season 6 finale left us, hence waiting for season 7 was probably going to be the biggest challenge for all of us. Since the inception of Game of Thrones’ characters stories way back in 2011, the show got everyone hooked. In season six’s finale, Arya Stark left us at when she slits off throat of Walder Frey after she feeds him pie having flesh of his own sons. Season seven opens up with Arya disguised Walder, who invites the Freys to thank them for their courage in the Red Wedding and a toast of poisoned wine is presented to them.  “The North remembers, Winter is here”. Winter is indeed here and in this July GoT’s Winter is the reason for our chills. While you’re still finding your sweaters, Dear people of Westeros here are the most unforgettable moments of episode one!

    1.Sam is secretly Voldemort!

Potterheads were probably the Sherlocks in the GoT season 7 episode 1… too much fandoms? Let us decode it for you.  In episode 1 Sam asks Ebrose to access the restricted area library to know more about his archeamaster training. Now take your head to the Potter Universe, in Harry Potter Half Blood Prince, Tom Riddle asks professor Slughorn to enter the restricted section to… well to know about the hocruxes. Okay Watsons of the Sherlocks, you ready? Ebrose and Slughhorn are both played by Jim Broadbent! Which also means Sam’s alter ego could be Voldemort? We wonder whose sorcery is this… the wizards or maybe Melisandre?

    2.The Hound knew the Cadavers

5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

Episode 1 was probably where your tears filled up your bathtub of emotions. In season 4, the Hound and Arya are welcomed by a farmer and his daughter in their house. He claims to be a Tully soldier and the good farmer offers them food and shelter. However Hound soon beats the guy up, nabs his silver and flees away. “He’s a good man, his daughter makes good stew and they’ll both be dead come winter” was the last reference he makes about them.  Fast forward to season 7, the Hound along with Berric and Thoros of Myr comes across a house, goes inside and sees two corpses lying on the floor. It is summarised that the father and daughter were starving to death and he decided to put them out of the misery. The bodies are later buried at the end of episode (I’m not crying, you are.). The winter did come for them.

    3.Euron Badass Greyjoy’s precious gift

5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

The makers claimed Euron in season 7 could be worse than Ramsay, well he certainly sported a better look in the first episode (props to him on that). Euron Greyjoy proposes to Cersei Lannister with marriage and military alliance that she refuses. To this he offers to return with a “precious gift”, one she cannot refuse. What gift? Huh huh huh? If he is meant to be badder than Ramsay Bolton, we can expect it to be huge! In the book Feast of Crows, Dragon binder is mentioned something which can be used to control the dragons.  Treat for Cersei that she can use again Daenerys? Something else? Your theories are welcomed. We just got to wait till episode 2 airs.

4.Sheeran’s Hands of Gold had major book reference

5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

The club isn’t the best place to find a lover so Westeros is where go! Arya comes across Sheeran by the campsite in the forest. “It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before” says Arya after she hears Sheeran singing Hands of Gold. The song is also featured in Song of Ice and Fire series, when Symon Silver Tongue uses it to blackmail Tyrion Lannister as the words are about his secret lover Shae. Tyrion sings same song while killing Shae with his father’s chains wrapped around her neck.

“For hands of gold are cold but a woman’s hands are warm”…

5.Episode one belonged to the ladies!

5 Shocking Moments From The First Episode Of Game Of Thrones!

Arya killing the entire Frey house, Sansa standing up against her older brother, Cersei  getting in her badass queen role, Daenerys reclaiming her family home or Lyanna Mermont shutting the whole room down with her views on girls and fighting. Game of Thrones is one show where we’ve seen the best evolution of the characters. We’re at Daenerys vs Cersei, remember how this series started in season one? The women are here to tell you that sh*t is about to go down and you better hold your ground! We certainly can’t wait for more action by these strong women. And while you’re waiting for episode two, here’s an old Khaleesi song for you…
