    If you thought that the Bollywood award season for 2016 is done, then consider this a humble reminder that the popular IIFA Awards are yet to happen. The nominations to Bollywood’s only offshore awards night is are out and they look pretty interesting this year.

    While, films like Udta Punjab, Sultan, Dangal, Rustom, Dear Zindagi,Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kapoor And Sons have been popular picks at the previous award shows, IIFA Awards are not very different. The mega awards night is all set to take place in New York this year and will be held on 14th and 15th of July this year.

    But the interesting twist in the nominations of IIFA Awards this year is that two of Bollywood’s mega stars and the blockbusters have been snubbed this year. Both Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan has been totally dismissed from the popular nomination categories while both their performances were the highlights of the year 2016 in Bollywood. Aamir Khan’s Dangal is still creating waves at the box office in China, Akshay Kumar’s Rustom was also the talk of the town for its performances. But it seems like the IIFA this year is all about Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which is all over the nomination categories.
