It freaks you out a little to see a 9 year old boy falling head over in love with a significantly older girl at first sight. That is not it, based on the fairy tale love story that he seems to have caught fancy to also leads him to follow her, and even think of himself as brave saving her from a cockroach!
While it is established that in the royal family that he is a part of someone wants the little one dead because he is the heir. But as far as the story progressed no reason seems strong enough to result in such a questionable bond of marriage to protect his life.
Especially if the woman who will play his protector in the future is established to be not very brave in real life. Based on the pilot we have seen, it seems not very far that we will see why the story will turn a leaf that has been questioned so strongly. But the story can turn either way and might convince us with its strong storyline or fade away completely. It certainly draws curiosity though and that is what will take the show forward.
