Ranbir Kapoor May Have Lost All His Lifelines With Jagga Jasoos Flopping!

Just nine months after he delivered a 100 crore hit in the looks of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir Kapoor must be finding his feet on very uncertain grounds. The extravagant big screen project that prompted him to turn a producer has flopped. After 10 days of outing at the box office, the Anurag Basu directorial Jagga Jasoos has only been able to register some 50 odd crores and has been delivered a box office flop.

The success of Jagga Jasoos was extremely crucial for someone like Ranbir Kapoor, not because he chose to back this as a producer but because he couldn’t really afford a flop at the time. When you deliver 4 bigtime box office failures out of your last 5 outings, you’re running out of chances. Here’s the fate of Ranbir Kapoor’s last five box office outing:

    Besharam – Disaster

    Bombay Velvet – Disaster

    Tamasha – Flop

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Hit

    Jagga Jasoos – Flop

Ranbir Kapoor May Have Lost All His Lifelines With Jagga Jasoos Flopping!

With so much of riding money that he lost, Ranbir Kapoor may really start losing the trust of makers and distributors even though he has some of the most desirable projects in hands right now. Jagga’s failure would bother him in particular for he invested three years of his life and did deliver a wonderful performance. Despite earning a relatively good word of mouth, the film sunk further and that’s scary. While Ae Dil Hai Mushkil benefited banking on a number of factors, all other films had him in the frontline to hold the fort.

Even the biggest of superstars cannot afford to deliver almost four consecutive flops with so much of money riding. While the actor continues to be in the league of sellable actors of the times, he must realize he has exhausted all his lifelines. Ranbir has been excellent in selecting his movies analyzing the experimental growth but his bad luck has come to really haunt him on most occasions. He doesn’t need a reinvention, maybe he needs to stop experimenting completely at the moment.

With a Rajkumar Hirani film in hand, he has just the kind of movie that can turn it around all for him and he must hope it does. The next he’s doing is the superhero sci-fi project with Ayan and if Dutt backfires, his mega budgeted next in line would feel the brunt. It’s time for him to take it slow, understand his audience, stabilize himself all over again and then go for the kill.

He may be the most promising of the younger generation but just like we mentioned, he has been forgiven thrice in the past and Jagga Jasoos perhaps comes as the fourth. Going by the trends of our industry, he perhaps has exhausted all his lifelines.

Let’s hope Dutt gets him what he really deserves!
