Ranbir Kapoor's Bitter Sweet Journey From Saawariya To Tamasha!

Ranbir Kapoor's journey in the entertainment industry started 8 years ago with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. This young Kapoor lad was cast opposite Sonam Kapoor. Saawariya faced tough competition at the box office because these two new-comers were put against Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om. Saawariya failed to impress the critics and the audience, but Ranbir evolved as a star.

Ranbir's performance was appreciated by the critics and the audiences loved Ranbir's looks. It wasn't too hard for Ranbir to make his way in the industry. He kept on bagging one after the other big roles in the industry. YRF's Bachna Hai Haseeno, Rocket Singh and Dharma's Wake Up Sid were in his pocket. But the films were neither hits nor flops. They were either appreciated by critics or they were a rage amongst the audience. However, no film made a breaking box office record. 

Even Wake Up Sid, which was considered one of Ranbir's best performance had a box office collection of Rs. 27 crores (approx). 

But he made heads turn with his performance in Raajneeti with senior artists like Manoj Bajpayee and others. Then came Rockstar and Jordan became the new cool. Ranbir overshadowed everybody else in the film. These films worked, but they were still away from the 100 crore club.

But Barfi made it possible for Ranbir to become a part of the 100 crore club, followed by Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, where he romanced his former girlfriend Deepika Padukone. 

His next two films, Besharam and Roy, failed terribly at the box office. Despite the constant criticism and failures, he has not given up. Ranbir has held his head high and kept the flag flying. Not just in his professional life but his personal life too, he has struck a balance. 

But with Tamasha, Ranbir Kapoor has proven his worth in the industry and the film has completely worked in his favour. Ranbir owns Tamasha and there is no one could replace him for the actor he is.
