Yesterday, director Abhishek Kapoor unveiled the first poster his new film, Kedarnath. The film is scheduled to release in the summer of 2018 and stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles. The film has started shooting and the intriguing poster and title has already created curiosity among viewers.
The Reunion- The film reunites Abhishek Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput after the widely appreciated Kai Po Che, which also was the debut film of SSR. Surely, the fans will be hoping the duo gives another hit.
Intense Love Story- As we have often seen, Abhishek Kapoor’s films are quite intense with powerful characters and complex back stories. The film’s poster comes with the tagline ‘Love is a pilgrimage’. As SSR himself describes, the film is a journey of faith and love.
Uttarakhand Floods- The film is based against the backdrop of devastating Uttarakhand floods. The film’s poster also has the eerie image of the Lord Shiva statue engulfed by the raging Ganges waters in Rishikesh.
Sara Ali Khan- The film also marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan’s and Amrita Singh’s daughter. Acting is in her blood and she is already a youth sensation thanks to her social media presence.
The Characters- Sushant will be playing a pitthu who ferries pilgrims on his shoulders and Sara would be playing the role of a tourist.
The Homage- The poster pays homage to both Lord Shiva and the place & temple dedicated to him, Kedarnath. It’s in the shade of blue; just like Lord Shiva is depicted in Hindu mythology and it means the film will also have some mythical connection.
