Padmavati Trailer: Not Deepika Or Shahid, This Could Be Ranveer Singh's Best Performance So Far

The trailer just dropped for the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmavati. The film is a fictionalized account of the historical epic based on Queen Padmini of Chittor. The film courted controversy from various fringe groups but the makers went on with the shooting. The trailer looks grand on every scale and it seems like Sanjay Leela Bhansali has again outdone himself.

The film stars Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, the ruler of Delhi Sultanate and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh of Chittor. Deepika Padukone is starring as the titular Queen Padmavati of Chittor and the trailer has given us goosebumps and we can't wait for 1st December to come sooner. Here is the trailer breakdown:

The Background Music- The very first thing that entraps you in the trailer is the riveting background music that is given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The music transfers you to the era of the 1300s when the fights would be fought over queens and kingdoms. The music is well versed with every scene in the trailer and it's one of the trailer's highlights.

The Direction- Sanjay Leela Bhansali once again sits on the director's chair and he again gives his great vision to a historical epic in a powerful fashion. The trailer screams of grandness on every scale. The attention to detail is something that Bhansali always takes care of and the characters and the setting of the story look authentic. The fight scenes look real and believable and its only because of the mastery by which these scenes are choreographed.

Visuals- The trailer is full of enchanting visuals and this seems like a step ahead of whatever Bhansali has done earlier. The colours embed with the characters naturally. The lighting, cinematography and editing transport the viewer to the era of royalty that spoke of greatness and grandeur in every sense. The aerial shots capture the beauty of the era in the most enchanting ways.

Ranveer Singh- The actor seems to be having time of his life by playing the role of Alauddin Khilji. Already garnering praise for his first look as Khilji, the actor completely gets into the ravaging persona Khilji was (in)famous for. The way he eats raw meat, the way he destroys his opponents in fights and the unpredictable mannerisms of his characters weave a magic of its own in the trailer and it'll be interesting to see him in the film.

Shahid Kapoor- The actor stars as the Maharawal Ratan Singh of the Rajput clan of the Kingdom of Chittor who is married to Rani Padmavati. He has to protect his kingdom from Khilji's siege and we also get to see what a brave king he was. Shahid definitely has the body of a fighter and his on-screen chemistry with Deepika looks really good. Though his voice doesn't exactly command the persona of a Rajput King he surely makes it up with the dialogues his character fires.

Deepika Padukone- The actress stars as the titular Queen Padmavati and she looks jaw-droppingly gorgeous. As was the case with Bajirao Mastani, here she is also under the burden of jewellery but that was how the Queens of Royal Kingdoms would carry themselves. Though she only utters one line in the trailer, by the looks of it, it seems she would be doing some of the major liftings in the film.
