10 Deleted Scenes Of Bollywood Films That We Wish Were Part of The Film

The number of hours that a Bollywood film clocks these days is anywhere between 90 minutes to 180 minutes but, there was a time when the films would take around 3-4 hours of runtime during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Some of the best Bollywood films have a runtime of 3 hours or maybe even more. We know that Bollywood is especially known for its song and dance sequences in the films as well as melodramatic scenes including the supporting actors, the side plots, the climax and the romantic build up between the leads.

The role of the editor has been very prominent in films of late as with the shortage of time, the audiences prefer to watch films with shorter runtimes. And sometimes to have the plot intact, the editor decides to keep some of the scenes out of the film that ends up online after the film is released. We went through some of the deleted scenes and found that some of them were brilliant and it would’ve been great if these scenes were included in the final cut. Here’s a list of 10 deleted scenes:

Chak De India- The scene includes Kabir Khan coming back and facing hostilities from the senior players.

English Vinglish- The scene has Shashi interacting with her niece and telling her about her day to day routine at her English class.

Jolly LLB 2- The hilarious yet thought-provoking scene has Saurabh Shukla telling Jolly about the condition of Judges in India.

Tamasha- The powerful scene has Deepika and Ranbir doing some of their finest acting work.

Dear Zindagi- The scene has SRK's Dr. Jehangir telling Alia's character the story of Donna Maria that serves as a major source of inspiration to our protagonist.

DDLJ- The scene was supposed to be the actual introduction of Simran but we get to see the reason why Amrish Puri's Bauji is so strict, serious and never laughs. It should have been included in the film.

Rang De Basanti- The scene has the powerful group dynamic that brings the group closer.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani- This is a hilarious meeting between Naina's mother and Bunny.

Fan- This scene included Gaurav being taken to police station and trying to bribe the police officers, obviously the plan backfires.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil- The scene had Ranbir's character telling Aishwarya's character about inviting Alizeh to dinner who he refers to her as his ex. Saba corrects him sassily.
