Bollywood is majorly ruled by a pack of leading men who have been tested times and over and yet have come across unaffected in terms of their box office returns. As per a recent study, the increasing age of box office stars is also leading to high box office returns as compared to the stars of previous decades whose movie would flop as they were getting older.

We have seen Bollywood films breaking records worldwide and are a force to reckon with nowadays. The technicalities, stories, and acting are majorly shifting towards practicality and realism and even the biggest of the blockbusters have underlying intellectual messages. Some of the films are breaking records with every single day and here are the films that have grossed 100 crores in their first weekend:

Ek Tha Tiger- The Katrina Kaif - Salman Khan starrer was a super hit when it released in 2012 and grossed 100.16 crores in its opening weekend.

Chennai Express- The Rohit Shetty directorial featuring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles minted 100.42 crores in the first weekend.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - The Salman Khan- Sonam Kapoor starrer was a Diwali release and broke various box office records. it grossed 101.47 crores during its first weekend.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan- The Salman Khan starrer grossed 102.60 crores in its opening weekend.

Sultan - The Anushka Sharma -Salman Khan starrer wrestling drama grossed 106.5 crores in the first weekend.

Dangal - The Aamir Khan led record-breaking film grossed 106.95 crores in the first weekend.

Dhoom 3- The multi starrer film grossed 107.61 crores in its first weekend.

Happy New Year - the Farah Khan directed ensemble film holds the record for highest collections ever by a Bollywood film in the first weekend, it grossed 108.86 crores.
