Varun Dhawan Aims To Score His Tenth Straight Success In Just Six Years With October

He made his big screen debut with Student of the Year [2012] exactly half a decade back. This year, he scored his biggest success as a solo lead (in actually a double role) with Judwaa 2 which went on to net 140 crores at the Box Office. From his debut till his recent effort, he has managed a double hat-trick of successes, what with nine straight films that did well in theaters. No wonder, all eyes are now on his tenth release, October , which releases in April 2018.

The question on everyone's lips is - Will Varun Dhawan make it 10 in a row?

The youngster is not just one of the most successful star actors around but also clearly one of the most likable human beings as well. That is something which is allowing his popularity to grow with every passing film as there is good audience base which is building amongst kids, youth and adults alike.

Moreover, the fact that he has never ever been a part of any controversy whatsoever and is allowing his work to speak the loudest is going in his favor as well. No random link ups, no war with co-stars, no scuffle with filmmakers, no news of any sort of unprofessionalism - Varun has been an epitome of a no-nonsense actor who is letting his talent play well in all directions and now allowing any sort of distractions.

Many do accuse him of playing safe though. Well yes, safe he has been playing for sure. Except for one Badlapur , he has seldom put his foot into something where he has to go beyond hardcore Bollywood commercial entertainment zone.

The question though should be - Is he delivering? Well, answer to that is an emphatic YES!

From the current generation, no one except for him could have pulled off a Judwaa 2. He carried grey shades in Badrinath Ki Dulhania but scored trumps there as well. He didn't have a leading lady with him in Dishoom and still made the film work via bromance with John Abraham . At the end of the day, he is finding an audience on a continuing basis and for distributors as well as exhibitors, he is Mr. Reliable for sure.

This is what makes October special since with the Shoojit Sircar -directed film, he is now presumably trying to do something different. Though he has done a couple of love stories [ Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania , Badrinath Ki Dulhania], both had the rom-com element play to a very high degree. Though not much is known about October, what is sure is that this one is not a romcom. Said to be a slice of life love story, the film is clearly one of the most intimate tales that Varun Dhawan has been a part of.

Moreover, he has a rank newcomer actress opposite him as well in the form of Banita Sandhu . This means the film would be entirely relying on his shoulders with the credibility of Shoojit as a driving factor.

One just hopes that for the sake of the audience, industry and of course Varun Dhawan, October does turn out to be a good film which becomes a deserving 10 on 10 for the young actor.

That would be one moment for him to cherish indeed!
