5 Second Seasons Of TV Shows That Did Not Live Up To The First Season
The world is embracing a more open minded attitude and the makers of daily soaps in India somehow have turned their heads and started walking back in time. Any TV show started with a good intention or a unique concept ultimately ends up exhausting its ideas and going back on to the same regressive crap that we are already too tired of seeing to extend its longevity.
But then came some smart show makers who learnt to make finite soaps and ended them in the span of their popularity and then came back with a season 2. Then be it Anil Kapoor’s 24 or the of the popular daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, they found their way back. The second seasons of these shows however were profoundly dull and left the fans thoroughly disappointed.
Take a look at the not so good season 2’s on Indian television.
Tu Suraj Main Sanjh Piya Ji – The show carries forward the story from the first season that was Diya Aur Bati Hum and now focuses on the daughter of the dead lead pair. The story goes down the same track where the educated girl marries a conservative man and thus has nothing new or attractive for the audiences to see except another budding love story.
24 Season 2 – After the impressive first season of Anil Kapoor’s 24, the actor came back with a season 2 which made a bigger and more popular cast and was certainly made on a bigger scale than the first season. But the scaled up production certainly did not make it better and we still feel that the first season was way better.
Naagin 2 – The revenge drama went berserk in its second season. After a crisp and straight forward first season, Naagin 2 scaled up everything from action, drama, twists and characters. The show opened door to not one but many supernatural species on the shows and all we could do is frown at our TV sets. The season remained at the peak of the TRP charts despite the over the top drama.
Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai Take 2 – The audiences we literally begging for years for this comedy series to return. It did but not on TV but as a webseries. The show had taken a leap of several years and we held our tissue boxes closes for the pang of nostalgia, but that did not happen. Something was terribly missing and we feel we were better of passing our days watching the hilarious re runs.
Kitni Mohabbat Hai Season 2 – The show was not a continuation of the first season and built a new track with a fresh yet more complicated love story. Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra however failed to recreate the same charm and chemistry as the first season and this second attempt was loved a little less than the first one.
All in all this was not a good way to ruin the shows we loved so much.
