Here Are The 10 Most Viewed Bollywood Films On TV In 2017 So Far

Watching big Bollywood films on television is becoming pretty old school since they are so widely available on the internet. But besides being a good old memory like watching Suryavansham on TV, satellite right for the big Bollywood films are sold for millions before they hit the theatres. That said, films are running a whole big race for TRPs on TV as they do for box office collections.

Here is what the TV releases of 2017 and what their impressions look like and which movie was loved by the audiences more on TV.

Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya - The Varun Dhwan and Alia Bhatt starrer film is one of the only few 100 crore grossers this year and is also the 10th most viewed movie this year on TV.

Raees - Shah Rukh Khan's Raees also crossed the 100 crore mark and also had a great run on TV.

Commando 2 - The film bombed at the box office big time but was a surprise hit on television where it beat Shah Rukh Khan to land on the 8th most viewed film on TV this year.

Shivaay - The crawled to cross 100 crores at the box office after it released on Diwali 2016. The visual treat was much enjoyed by the audiences on TV though.

M.S. Dhoni : The Untold Story - Watching Dhoni's incredible journey to the top is something a cricket fan can do over and over again and the TV views of the 2016 film reflect just that.

Kaabil - Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil may have had to face the brunt of its clash with Raees at the box office, but on TV it was a much bigger hit.

Tubelight - The film did not shine as bright as Salman Khan may have expected but the TV premiere of the film sure made up for the lag it faced on TV with a sprawling viewership.

Jolly LLB 2 - Akshay Kumar's courtroom drama was a box office hit and was as much bigger when it aired on TV.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha - A unique love story with a unique title starring Akshay Kumar and Bhoomi Pednekar the film broke the box office jinx when it released and broke many records on TV when it aired. Win-Win!

Dangal - Aamir Khan's masterstroke that has not stopped creating records at the box office yet, was a phenomenon on TV as well. It was much ahead in viewership than any other film aired on TV this year.

So while box office tells one story about the audience preferences, the TV viewership is just telling something else. Certain megaflops too made it big on TV while Dangal is the biggest winner in both places.
