Yesteryear multilingual actress M. Saroja dies of heart attack

Senior Tamil actress M. Saroja, who had done over 300 films in Tamil,Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages, died at her residence in Chennai on Mondaydue to cardiac arrest. The 79-year-old veteran actress, wife of legendry Tamil comedianK.A.Thangavelu, had acted in over 250 films with her husband only after they were pairedtogether first time in Naga Panchami. However, the most successful film of the duo wasKalyana Parisu (Wedding Gift) and the couple got married at the Murugan temple in Maduraiduring the 100th day celebrations of the film in 1959. During her decades-long career, Sarojahas acted with almost all the famous actors of Tollywood like NTR, MGR and Sivaji Ganesanbesides Thangavelu. Sometimes she had to work in 3 shifts per day for different films.
