    Flowing with the current trend of remaking super-hit South films in Hindi, now superstar Mammootty’s 1994 releaseSukruthamis also going to Bollywood 18 years after the release of the original movie, , sources said. In the much-appreciated film, which won 42 awards after its release, superstar Mammootty essayed the role of a cancer-stricken journalist. Director Harikumar confirmed the news, saying last round of discussions are on for the remakes. "The same production house from Mumbai that is making the film in Hindi will also make its Bengali version. While in Hindi, Aamir Khan has been approached to essay the role Mammootty did, Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee might play the lead in the Tollywood remake". He added, "Mammootty's role, Ravishankar, is one of the best characters writer M T Vasudevan Nair has brought on the screen; for, he goes through the whole gamut of human emotions. So the makers are leaving no stone unturned to bring on board the best in the industry to play such an intense role."

    The film’s plot is very interesting where a journalist, diagnosed with blood cancer, bounces back to life after undergoing a holistic treatment only to realise that people around him, including his wife, have been awaiting his death than his recovery and ultimately commits suicide.
