Actress Priyanka Upendra Bags The Lead Role In Lohit’s ‘Howrah Bridge’

After taking a long break from Tamil films, actress Priyanka Upendra is all set to step into the Kollywood industry again with her upcoming venture ‘Howrah Bridge’. The film is a woman-centric thriller, where the actress will be seen playing the lead character. Having worked in the industry earlier, she is a popular figure in Kollywood.

Priyanka had made her debut in Kollywood with Vijaykanth starrer 'Rajjiyam', and have worked with many popular actors like Ajith, Vikram and Arun Vijay. The 39-year-old has also marked her performance in a number of Bengali and Kannada films. In the new venture, the actress will be portraying the role of a doting mother Aishwarya, who will be playing her daughter on screen.

The Tamil- Kannada bilingual has been directed by Lohit and is being produced by Sathish Kumar of JSK Film Corporation, which is based on true events that had happened in Kolkata. The producer said, “It is an edge-of-the-seat thriller and is based on real-life experiences. We have set the film in Kolkatta as it plays an important role in taking the story forward”. The film is said to go on floors from September 4.
