Sridevi’s upcoming Bollywood film ‘Mom’ is one of the highly anticipated movies. It is only her first film after English Vinglish in 2012 but will also mark her 300th film. The movie will release in four languages with one of the languages being Tamil.

And now we have heard that AR Rahman, who has scored music for the flick, has roped in his younger sister, Isshrathquadhre, for a powerful song, Raakshasa Theeyo, in the Tamil version of ‘Mom’. Talking about how she landed an opportunity to sing in Mom, Isshrath said, “It just happened all of a sudden! One late night, I got a call from anna’s assistant, who said that they wanted me to render a song for Mom. The recording was to happen the next day at the studio and they sent me the lyrics written by Vivek, the previous night.  The song was so emotional, so I practised the entire song in high pitch. When I went for the recording, I realised that I had to sing in both high and low octaves! There were lines in recital form, which had to be uttered by me. I was a bit apprehensive as how my brother would receive it. Later, his engineer called and told me that anna liked the way I sang and they will retain this version for the final album.”

Apart from ‘Mom’, Isshrathquadhre has also rendered music for Aishwarya Dhanush’s documentary ‘Cinema Veeran’, which revolves around the life of stuntmen. She said that she bagged an opportunity to compose for Cinema Veeran after she was playing songs from her album, Uyir Kodi, which impressed her brother. She got a call from him the next day, who then told her to sing and compose for the movie. Isshrathquadhre debuted as a composer with the Hollywood film, ‘Lake of Fire’.
