Catherine sheds her glamorous look for her first Tamil flick

Model and actress Catherine Tresa is all set to shed her glamorous look for her debut film Madras. The movie which has been filmed in North Madras by Rajnith, will feature Karthi opposite Catherine. Catherine Tresa will portray the role of Kalai, an area ponnu and will be seen without make-up and bright costumes.

Talking about her role in Madras, Catherine says "Everybody does not get a character like the one I have played in Madras. I am playing the love interest of Karthi's character, Kaali, in the film. Kalai is not the usual girlfriend character, who comes only for the romantic scenes. Love blossoms between them when she emotionally supports Kaali, and the bond strengthens when she is part of the ups and downs in his life. Kalai will give a new definition to a girlfriend." About her de-glam avatar, the actress says, "I have avoided makeup and I have undergone a complete makeover for this role. Even Karthi couldn't recognize me on the first day of the shoot. I have also learnt the Madras slang to get to know my dialogues." She adds, "I can play a glamorous role anytime, but such challenging roles come only rarely."

Catherine has appeared in various Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu films. This would however, be her first Tamil movie. We welcome the actress to our Kollywood industry and wish her all the best for her first flick!
