Dhanush to play a local slum chieftain in his next

Kollywood superstar Dhanush is all set to shoot for his upcoming flick Maari from next week. The actor, who had disappeared from the silver screen for quite some time, is back with a bang. Sources have informed that a major portion of the movie would be shot in the slum area and Dhanush would portray the role of a local slum chieftain.

"The team shot in Triplicane, in the market area, for a few days, and then erected a similar set in another part of the city. The set includes a big market, apart from other essentials for the plot of the film. But contrary to reports, Dhanush is essaying the role of a slum chieftain, and not that of a tailor in the film. He speaks Madras bashai with ease on the set. A major portion of the film will be shot in this set. Shooting is expected to commence from next week, and they will continue to shoot till the end of the month," says a source.
