    Karthick Naren, who’s Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru was critically acclaimed, has added one more feather in his cap. The young helmer has bagged the prominent IIFA Award for the ‘Best Story’. Do you know which all directors he competed? The other nominees were Chandrakumar for Visaaranai, Atlee for Theri and Venkat Prabhu for Chennai — 28 II, among others.

    During an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, excited Karthick says, “This is the first big award I am receiving on the dais for my film D16. I am immensely happy and it is a big honour for me. It makes me more responsible with respect to my future directorial ventures.” The entire cast of Vanamagan along with Jayam Ravi and director Vijay presented the prestigious award to Karthick.

    On the work front, Karthick is presently filming for his next, titled Naragasooran. The film features Arvind Swami in the lead, and Tollywood eye candy Naga Chaitanya. However, this will be Naga’s maiden Tamil project. The film will be co-produced by Gautam Vasudev Menon.
