Velraj Rubbishes Rumours of Walking out of Dhanush’s Film

As R. Velraj skipped the last few days of the shoot of his upcoming film, starring Dhanush, rumour mills started churning that the director had quit the project. It was being said that Velraj had differences with Dhanush and hence he opted out of the film. However, the director has denied of the rumours. He told TOI, “No, I am very much part of the film. This is just a baseless rumour”.

Velraj further explained, “My Dhanush film and Suseenthiran's Paayum Puli, for which I'm the cinematographer, were launched at around the same time, but I was working for both the films simultaneously because the shoot timings were different. At one point of time, I got stuck with Paayum Puli's shoot for a few days. At that time, my team for Dhanush's film canned a few fight scenes and some montage shots”.

The cinematographer continued, “Since I'm not doing the cinematography for Dhanush's film, these shots did not require me to be physically present on the set. That does not mean I have walked out of the film. However, the film's shoot is complete now and we have begun the post-production work. I am still the director of the Dhanush film”.
