Ex-Cricketer Devika Palshikar Turns Actress In For Upcoming Film
The news of male cricketers trying their hands in acting is not new. Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Salil Ankola, Vinod Kambli, S Sreesanth and many others have acted in some or other movies so far. How can our female cricketers remain to shy away? Former Indian cricketer Devika Palshikar, who has played 15 One-Day Internationals for India, will soon be seen as a reel life cricketer in an upcoming film.
Recently, Arunraja in her interview said, “This is going to be a film on sports, focusing on women’s cricket. “This story is about following our passions” This film would be the directorial debut for Arunraja and he feels confident on interest shown voluntarily by Devika to be part of this initiative.
Arunraja further said, “Her support will help create a bigger buzz about the film. I’m really happy and I’d be more than happy to take her help”. The Tamil film is yet to be titled, which is being directed by actor-lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj. The director is well known for penning the hit song ‘Neruppuda’ for ‘Kabali’, which featured Rajinikanth.
