Tota, who is a popular face in the Bengali film and television industry, allegedly claimed that he is the leading antagonist in the Murugadoss film and he also shared the storyline which quite obviously annoyed the makers. When the filmmaker was contacted he said, "Tota is not the main villain; we are still on the look-out for a person who would fit the antagonist's role. As we shot in Kolkata for a few days, we wanted a person who could film for a few chase sequences there and so, roped in Tota, a Bengali actor." Murugadoss was also asked if the revealed storyline will affect his project and he replied, "We're not perturbed about it, as that is not the actual story. The storyline is very different.”
