Filmmaker Ram Talks About 'Tarmami'!

Latest Tamil movie ‘Taramani’ has been received well by the critics as well as the Tamil audience of Kollywood. The movie was released on August 11, penned and helmed by Ram. The movie stars Andrea Jeremiah and Vasanth Ravi.

The movie was also appreciated by superstar Rajnikanth, who termed the movie as a ‘bold attempt’. The Thalaiva also praised producer JSK, who made his debut as an actor in the movie. Regarding the movie, the filmmaker was quoted as saying, “I have completed a decade in Tamil cinema and so has Andrea and JSK. It was for the first time theatre owners called up and told us, ‘People are coming in large numbers to the theatres and we are confident that it would collect good money and become a box office hit!’ This did not happen for my earlier movies”.

The auteur further added, “When movies like Mani sir’s Oh Kadhal Kanmani which was on living-in-relationships and Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi which talked about feminism released, I thought Taramani’s content may go outdated. The society’s perception kept changing in the four years we waited. There was no Whatsapp when I started the script! So, we incorporated it only in the second half”.
