I had to let go of comforts of being a star while shooting for Madras: Karthi
Award winning actor Karthi is making headlines since he signed Madras with filmmaker Ranjith. Karthi is all set to star opposite actress Catherine Tresa in the film co-produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu. The 37-year-old actor says he had to discard many habits while working on the film.
The actor says, "Sometimes in your career as an actor, you have to let go of comforts of being a star. I had to do that in Madras, for which I also had to unlearn whatever I've learned so far in my career so that I could learn again." He adds, "Since we shot mostly on real locations with real people, I had to learn to mingle with them and act. They're so friendly that they would forget you're a star and at times even mouth your dialogues when you're trying hard to remember. It was a whole new experience."
Madras was launched with a ceremony in October 2013. This would be Catherine’s first Tamil movie. Catherine Tresa is a known face in South Indian film industry. She has worked in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada movies earlier and now, the pretty actress is all set to enter the Kollywood industry.
