Rummy actress Iyshwarya Rajesh is gearing up for her maiden urban role in her upcoming film, Thirudan Police. Iyshwarya, who has been loved in her rural avatar in her previous films, Rummy and Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, insists that she will never perform to an item number in any of her films.

The actress said about her character in Thirudan Police, "It is a refreshing change.” She added further, “Although I play a college girl in this film, I am not the bubbly kind. I essay a very subtle role -that of an inspector's daughter. I also play Dinesh's love interest." Thirudan Police, which is a comedy flick, will also star the actress in a full-fledged comedy role for the first time. When asked if the character of a rural girl has become a stereotype for her she said, "I have done several movies on the same lines and therefore, I felt I needed a break. Which is why , when this film came along, I immediately said `yes'. Similarly, my next film, Idam Porul Eval opposite Vishnu, will have a very different character.

I can't reveal much about my role now but what I can say is that there has never been a character like this essayed in Tamil cinema before." Iyshwarya also said she has no issues enacting glamorous roles provided they are not vulgar. To quote her, "There is a fine line between being glamorous and vulgar. I am open to glam roles, as long as they don't look vulgar on screen - even a small child should be able to watch me. However, I will never do something like an item number.”
