"Jiiva plays Chandru, an unemployed MBA graduate. His happy-go-lucky nature makes him irresponsible. However, certain incidents that he comes across change his life. I can't reveal too many details about his role as it will give away the storyline," says producer Elred Kumar. According to Elred, the character played byThulasi Nair is completely contrary to Jiiva’s character. He further explains, "Thulasi plays Sreela, who is just out of college. Unlike Jiiva's character, Thulasi plays one of those sincere, responsible girls that a guy would fall for."

The film which has been pushed for an October release also features Nasser, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Arjunan, Jayaprakash and Bose Venkat in vital roles. "Karuna plays an Indian, who lives abroad. His character doesn't just give a comic relief to the film, but is also of major significance. In fact, there is no separate comedy track in the film. It is Jiiva, who has a funny side in Yaan. He has dabbled in comedy, which is one of the highlights," states the producer.
