Stand up comedian Mahavishnu Krishnamoorthy is all set to foray in Tamil cinema as a director. He has roped in Chandran of Kayal fame and Malayalam actress Anju Kurian to play the lead roles in his directorial venture. Talking about why he decided to turn a director, he said, “I was always fascinated by films and was also working in a famous television channel which helped me learn more about the nuances of handling a team. Since I was interested in films, I handled the production and distribution of Karthick Naren’s Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru in Kerala under my banner Writer Imaginations.”

Apart from directing, Mahavishnu has also produced the flick. When asked why he decided to back his own movie, he said, “I had met several producers to narrate the story. Many, after listening to the narration said that they liked it but nothing worked out in the long run. Since I have confidence in my script, I decided to fund it. The untitled film is a suspense-based romantic comedy.”

He added, “We have dealt with a subject that is completely new to Tamil cinema and have also added commercial elements to it.” Krishnamoorthy has completed 90 percent of the paper work and will soon wrap up the pre-production work. The yet-to-be titled film will go on floors in February 2018 in Chennai and Puducherry. Achu Rajamani has composed the music, while Ramanan Purushothaman will be handling the camera.
