    Manorama Passes Away At 78

    On Saturday, Kollywood lost one of its most precious actresses. Tamil actress Manorama breathed her last on October 10. The 78 year-old died of cardiac arrest late in the night on Saturday in Chennai. Fondly called as Aachi, Manorama is survived by her son Boopathi.

    The actress, who was last seen in Suriya starrer ‘Singam’ has acted in more than 1,500 films. The veteran actress has appeared in more than 1,000 stage performances and several television series. Moreover, in 1985 her name was registered in Guinness World Records for acting in more than 1,000 films.

    She also received Kalaimamani award from the government of Tamil Nadu and was awarded with Padma Shri in 2002. She made her entry in the Tamil Film Industry with ‘Konjum Kumari’. The actress, who was last seen in Hari directorial ‘Singam 2’, has also acted with five different Chief Ministers. The loss is irreplaceable as very few actresses have managed to continue their career for so long.
