‘Mayaavan’ Inspired From Past Movies And Real-Life Incidents

Producer CV Kumar, who is famous for producing films with quirky scripts, is preparing for his debut directorial venture ‘Mayaavan’. The movie which is touted to be a serial mystery will have actors Sundeep Kishan, Lavanya Tripathi, Jackie Shroff and Daniel Balaji playing the lead.  The producer thanks his friend Nalan Kumaraswamy, the movie’s scriptwriter, who encouraged him to direct the film.

About the film, Kumar said that it is inspired from few movies as well as real-life incidents. Talking about Sundeep, he says, “He plays an investigative cop, Kumaran, and he fit the bill in terms of looks. He has done a good job.” “Lavanya Tripathi plays Adhirai, a physiatrist, one of the driving forces in the story,” he added.

The filmmaker is full praise for Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who plays a villain in the film. “I needed a charismatic villain in that age group and I could not think of anyone else other than Jackie. When I approached him, he did ask for a lot of details and clarifications about the script. But he is a powerhouse performer,” Kumar said. Apart from Jackie Shroff, there is one more villain in the film which will be played by Daniel Balaji.
