About her character in the film, Mia says, "I have been playing a lot of interesting characters in Malayalam films. I was looking for such performance oriented roles in Tamil too. Amarakaaviyamhas given me that scope to exhibit my acting prowess. I play Karthika, who is a school girl in this film. It is a very cute character and I had to act in a lot of emotional scenes for my role. I felt good in the school uniform costume and the half-sari. I have shot for 45 days in Ooty for this period flick. Most of the scenes were shot in a set erected for this film. I hope this film will be a visual treat. It is an out-and-out love story and my character will be a memorable one."

Talking about her team, Mia added, "I don't know the language, so, everybody in the team was very supportive and helpful. Sathya knows Malayalam and he helped me with the dialogues. As we shot in all beautiful places, shooting with the team was like a vacation for me and I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project."

In a recent interview, Mia confessed that she is not confident with the language yet. Mia retorts, “No. I am still not fluent in Tamil. In fact, many days before the shoot itself I got a copy of my dialogues written in Malayalam. As if I was studying for an exam, I learnt my dialogues the day before the shoot and it helped.”

We also heard that Nayanthara got teary eyed watchingMia’s Tamildebut. The actress reveals,”Yes, I heard about it. Actor Arya, who is the producer of Amarakavyam, had held a preview of the film for his close friends, and Nayanthara was one among those who attended the screening. I was in Kerala at that time, but I heard that Nayathara was deeply moved by the story. Later, I got a call from her lauding my performance! I was on cloud nine when she showered me with compliments. I am touched by her sweet gesture.”
