Director A.R. Murugadoss is busy with his next project in Telugu starring Mahesh Babu and is also gearing up for release of his Bollywood venture ‘Akira’. His action packed films have always thrilled the audiences and the heroes of his films have become people’s favourite over the time. But the filmmaker feels that it is time that the actresses also take up action based projects.

During a recent interview, Murugadoss said that portraying a strong woman on silverscreen will help in changing people’s mindset. He said, "When cinema displays a strong woman character who fights back, the audience mindset will change. When Olympic medals are achieved only by them with a fighting spirit, they prove that they are not only soft natured but can fight back if a problem arises... the environment now is right for female films".

So maybe it is time for tensil town beauties to shed off their touch-me-not image and to start dominate the action genre. Taking an inspiration from Hollywood, heroines should start taking the central role and beat the baddies in the movies. Hopefully, we will get to see a women centric action film in Kollywood soon.
