Pro-Jallikattu Activists Wants Soundarya Rajinikanth To Leave AWBI Post

Pro-jallikattu group has expressed their displeasure and have asked Soundarya Rajnikanth to give away her membership of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). They alleged that AWBI is the chief organization in banning of traditional Jallikattu festival. Organization is red over her willingly joining AWBI couple of weeks ago.

"The AWBI is the reason why Jallikattu has been banned. Rajinikanth is a national icon and when a member from his family becomes part of the organisation, it is like giving credibility to people who are against Tamil culture. This can influence public opinion against Jallikattu, and this is why we are insisting that Soundarya resign from the post", said organization President Rajesh.

He added that she should not ‘shake hands with jallikattu’s enemy. Earlier, Senaapathy Kangayam Cattle Research Foundation and a former committee member of the Planning Commission of India wrote an open letter to Rajinikanth on Facebook, saying, "When you were baiting the bull in murattu Kalai you were my god, When you were crying in annamalai as a milk man we thought you were ours and cried with you... Now we are shocked by the appointment of your daughter Thirumathi. Soundarya as a co opted member of the Animal welfare board". Soundarya recently announced her separation from his estranged husband and revealed that divorce talks are on, which will end their six years old marriage.
