    R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi were recently seen in Tamil gangster drama 'Vikram Vedha', which set the cash registers ringing at the box office. The movie broke all the box office records not only in India but also overseas. Now reports have emerged that the super hit film will be remade in Telugu.

"Talks have been initiated with Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh for Telugu remake. They were the first choice even before the release of 'Vikram Vedha'. However, nothing has been finalised yet and the process might take a few more months," revealed a source close to the film’s unit.

Helmed by Pushkar-Gayatri, the flick collected over Rs 40 crore worldwide in its first week in cinemas. 'Vikram Vedha' was not only praised by audience but also by critics. When asked from Sashikanth, the producer of the movie, about the Tamil remake, he said, “Too early to talk about the remake. But yes, talks are on for the remake. But nothing has been confirmed yet." Though 'Vikram Vedha' has been inspired from popular folklore 'Vikram Betaal', however, its story focuses on police-gangster. Apart from Madhavan and Sethupathi, the film also starred Shraddha Srinath, Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar and Kathir.
