Rahul Dev Roped in For Thala 56

Rumours are rife that actor Rahul Dev has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Ajith’s next, which is helmed by Siva. The actor, who was last seen in Suriya starrer Aadhavan, has already joined the shoot of the flick. Reportedly, Rahul is playing a villain in the yet-to-be titled film.

The actor recently wrote on Twitter, “End of a long night's work now to bed! @Chennai filming with director #shivkumar prod  #AMRatnam Hero #AjithKumar”. It was expected that the makers of the film will announce the title on Independence Day, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The rumour mills are churning that Thala 56 will be titled Vetti Vilas. However, an official announcement is awaited.

The shooting of the flick is going on in Chennai. The Siva directorial also stars Shruti Haasan (who plays a lawyer) and Lakshmi Menon (who plays a Ajith’s sister) in lead roles; and Ashwin Kakumanu (who plays Lakshmi’s love interest), Kabir Duhan Singh (who plays a villian) and Soori in supporting roles. The A.M. Rathnam production is expected to release around Diwali.
