Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is the most expensive Indian film ever made, made with a budget of 450 crore. As the movie is expected to release next year on the occasion of Republic Day, distributors are leaving no stone unturned to grab the rights of their respective regions. The film is a sequel to 2010 Tamil science fiction film, Robot, which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.

The latest in the front is that the Telugu distribution rights have already been sold for a whopping amount. The flick is already raking in huge amount even before its release. Narayan Das Narang of Asian Cinemas confirmed this and said, “Yes, we bought the rights for the Telugu version of the film and it is releasing in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This is one of the costliest films in India and we are happy that we have bagged the Telugu theatrical distribution rights”.

If reports are to be believed, the rights have been bought for a whopping Rs 80 crore. With this, 2.0 becomes the first film whose Telugu version has been sold for this amount. Apart from Rajinikanth and Akshay, actress Amy Jackson will be seen as the female lead.
