Shooting Of G Venkatesh Helmed Movie Gets Back On Track

Filmmaker G Venkatesh is currently helming his directorial debut titled as ‘Neelam’. It is based in the era of 1960s and places an emphasis in the rise of rebel groups and the cause behind the breaking out of civil war. Previously, the shooting of the movie started in 2012 by Balu Mahendra, which later stalled.

The reasons behind the stalling of the movie shoot in between were the threats received by the director. Venkatesh was quoted as saying, “I was shattered as this is my dream film and I wanted it to be my debut. Since I had to stop this film mid-way, I worked on two other projects — Unakkul Naan and Lightman. Now, I am reviving Neelam and the shooting will progress in Chennai and Pondicherry”.

The movie also features a song titled as ‘Alaye’ which was the last song sung by late exceptional singer-composer MS Vishwanathan. The music of the movie is composed by Sathish. 'Neelam' also stars newcomer Thavamurugan.
