Singam 2 enjoys a successful opening weekend

The opening weekend for Suriya’s much-awaited Singam 2 has fared well enough. On its release day Singam’s sequel has collected Rs. 9.25 crore in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, though it received rave reviews from movie critics for being too lengthy.

As told by trade analyst Trinath, "Reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 45 crore, 'Singam 2' collected a total of Rs. 9.25 crore on the day of release from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.” The Hari Gopalakrishnan-directed movie has been criticised by critics for being extremely commercial and also for its unnecessary length, but the negative reviews could not influence the viewers and Suriya’s fans. Now Suriya can breathe with relief post his failure with 7am Arivu and Maattrraan. Apart from Suriya, Singam 2 stars Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Nasser, Mukesh Rushi, Danny Sapani, Rahman, Radha Ravi, Santhanam, Vivek and Anjali.
