Soundarya, Ashwin Finally Officially Separated!

After filing for divorce because of irreconcilable differences last year, the court has finally granted Soundarya and business man Ashwin Ramkumar a decree of divorce. After living separately for a year, the former couple was asked to appear before a family court on June 23 where the judge had adjourned the matter to July 4 for passing orders. Now, judge AD Maria Clete has allowed the petition.

Soundarya and Ashwin tied the knot back in 2010 and had a child. Soundarya is the younger daughter of Rajinikanth and is a graphic designer, film producer and director. She has worked in films like ‘Baba’, ‘Majaa’ and has produced the 2010 film ‘Goa’. Her directing credits include ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ and the upcoming flick ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari 2’.

The terms of their separation and the custody details are currently unknown. Their lawyers stated, “their misunderstanding over various issues reached a point of no return earlier than that”. Soundarya made the announcement of their divorce in September of 2016.
