Vishwaroopam 2 avoids clash with Veeram and Jilla, confirms February 2014 release

The much-awaited sequel to Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam, Vishwaroopam 2, will release in February 2014 and it’s confirmed now. Earlier the sequel was supposed to clash with Thala Ajith's Veeram and Vijay's Jilla at the box-office during Pongal in January.

Vishwaroopam 2, set in India, stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Shekhar Kapur and Rahul Bose. It is said to be faster than its predecessor and more mass-appealing. Meanwhile Kaleeswari Films and Ganesh Pictureswill distribute the film in Kerala and Karnataka for a huge amount. The spy-thriller has been scripted, co-produced and directed by Haasan himself. It is slated to be released in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. While most of the stars belonged to the first instalment, the sequel has some new faces like Waheeda Rahman and Anant Mahadevan too. The expectations from the film are huge as Haasan said to “Expect the unexpected.”
