Amitabh Bachchan to receive ANR honour

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan would be honored with Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award, this year. The superstar would be receiving the award in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on December 27.

“Dad was very fond of Amitabh Bachchan and asked us to play Amitabh's films in his last days. My father regarded Bachchan sahab as one of the finest actors ever. I thought having him in my dad's last film Manam would be a befitting honour to my father's memory. When I asked him, he immediately agreed," reveals actor and ANR’s son Nagarjuna.

The ANR National Award was started by the Akkineni International foundation in the loving memory of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The award is given to recognize people for their immense contributions in Indian Cinema.
