Balupu in troubled waters for offending a community

It is becoming a part of business now a days for every flick to get stranded in a controversy before its release and Balupu, Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan and Anjali starrer film is in news for making fun of last year’s protests by the Brahmin community. The community claims that there are certain dialogues in the film which are degrading them and lowering down the value of the act that they did.

Last year the Brahmin community protested against Vishnu Manchu's Denikaina Ready as they had some issues. The youth president of AP Brahmana Seva Samakhya, Dronamraju Ravi Kumar said that some of the dialogues in the teaser are against their community and they are feeling insulted. They believe that the director has done this thing intentionally to make a dig at them. A memorandum has been submitted to the Censor Board by the community and asked the makers to remove such dialogues.

Though the director of the flick Malineni Gopichand has defended his film and said, “There is no issue here. We don't want to hurt anybody. We just wanted to conclude that controversy in a positive manner in this movie. In fact, we even invited the members of the Brahmin community to watch the movie before it gets censored. I can assure that everyone will appreciate the film after watching it.”
