Dasarath Denies Plagiarism Claim
'Mr. Perfect', directed by Dasarath, which was bankrolled by Dil Raju is in midst of plagiarism controversy for some time now. A Novelist Shyamala Rani has claimed that the film has been based on her novel Na Manasu Korindi Ninne. Shyamala has lodged a complaint against the film’s producer in Hyderabad on September 9.
However, now there is a twist in the scenario that the team has given proof that the film’s script was locked and registered way before the release of her novel. The director of the film Dasarath said, “In general, no one really saves the registration copy of a film, especially one that released over six years ago. However, we were lucky enough to have the copy, to prove that the registration happened before the release of the film. We wouldn’t be able to prove this otherwise".
Further, the complaint has been lodged on the name of Dil Raju under sections 120A, 415, 420 of the Copyright Act 63 under the IPC. Even though the film has released six years back in 2010, it has been heard that the story of ‘Mr. Perfect’ was registered by the director and producer in December 2008. It seems the director even explained the complainant about it but the woman was adamant to take legal action.
