Kamal Hassan likes to promote young talent

Multi-faceted actor Kamal Haasan, whose much-awaited film Vishwaroopams first look was unveiled at the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards last weekend, says while finalizing actors for his film he looks for talents not stars. The superstar, who has given chances to a lot of young actors like Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Jaideep Ahlawat and Rahul Bose in the Tamil and Hindi bilingual, said he has roped them in because they are talented. "Casting Jaydeep, Andrea and Pooja was easy as I was looking for talent and I found it in them," Kamal said at IIFA. Confirming the news that he had first approached Deepika Padukone for the leading ladys role opposite him in the film, the actor said, "We didn't get the dates we wanted from her so we let her go. I wouldn't like to name her. Her name was suggested by my financier, but I am happy with the people I am working with in this film". "Audiences are something that we are scared of. We are so paranoid of audiences that we forget to realise that we filmmakers are also one of them," Kamal said, adding, "I have a philosophy with which I make films, it may not be best or may not be followed by others. I take the best from my audiences and I consider myself one of them and make films".
