Karthi Follows Suriya’s Footsteps

South star Karthi is all set to don khaki in his next. He will play the role of a cop, following the footsteps of his brother Suriya who played a cop in the ‘Singam’ series. The Telugu flick ‘Khaki — The Power of Police’ will also be released in Tamil simultaneously as ‘Theeran Adhigaram Ondru’.

If reports are to be believed, Umesh Gupta of Aditya Music has bagged the Telugu version of the film. As per Umesh, “The film’s shoot is completed and it is now in the post production stage. The story is based on a true incident that made headlines in 2005. Director Vinod made it very interesting and I wanted to buy the Telugu theatrical rights”.

For the role, Karthi has completely changed himself and is taking utmost care of his body. Filmmaker H. Vinod of Sathuranga Vettai fame will helm the project. Actress Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead.
