Lakshmi to play a mommy in her next!

The new mommy, Lakshmi Manchu who was blessed with a daughter through surrogacy on June 15, is all set to hit the silver screen. Interestingly, the famous actress, singer, model, producer and a television host Lakshmi will play the role of a mother this time. "I wouldn't have done this role a year ago, but I'm enjoying this new phase of my life," retorts Lakshmi.

Lakshmi admitted that shooting for the film was difficult. "Parenting is extremely tough and I wish there were four of us to look after the baby. I'm constantly in touch with Andy (her
husband) or whoever is looking after my daughter during my absence. My family is my best support system." "Your baby will always remain a part of your life, but that doesn't mean that you should forgo your career. You just have to manage it. In the US, people are so dedicated to their work that they hardly take a break, even if they are about to deliver a baby and everyone respects that," she further added.

Lakshmi’s upcoming film titled Budugu is supposed to be a story of a mother and a son. The story is said to be based on a real incident which involves a series of strange things which destroys the eight-year old boy’s life. Talking about her on screen and off screen motherhood, Lakshmi says "More than my daughter, I owe a lot to my nieces Viviana and Ariana,who helped me understand the psyche of kids better. They are still very young, but already know how to handle gadgets, among many other things. It's amazing how fast kids learn these days."
