    Mohan Babu Honoured For His 'Significant Contribution to Telugu Film Industry'

    It is party time for Mohan Babu’s fans! The actor was honoured with Doctor of Letters by Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute for his "significant contribution to the Telugu film industry." The degree was presented to the Telugu actor by Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao, who also holds additional charge of Tamil Nadu.

    Speaking about the actor and politician, the Governor said, "Mohan Babu is a versatile and renowned actor, an educationist, a Parliamentarian, a philanthropist and a Padma Shri awardee." Rao further said, "Babu, with his matchless dialogue delivery, has brought a new genre to Telugu film industry. He has played various roles in a career spanning four decades."

    Popularly known as Manchu Mohan Babu, the actor has done more than 560 movies in his career which spans over 40 years. He became the first person from the Telugu film industry to be honoured in the House of the Commons or the British Parliament. There, his popular film dialogues were compiled in "Dialogue Book" and launched in association with MP Bob Blackman.
