Prashanth Mandava, On Sharath Mandava: We Just Share Our Surnames

According to recent news, the Telugu film Pratinidhi will be getting a Tamil remake. The director of the film Prashanth Mandava stated that he knew all along that the film would get a Tamil remake and wasn’t surprised at all with the news. What shocked the director was the news that Sharath Mandava is his brother.

The director said, “I was glad to learn that the film is being remade in Tamil. But reports claiming that my brother Sharath Mandava is directing the remake is what shocked me. I just want to clarify that Sharath isn't even distantly related to me. We just share our surnames”.

Prashanth stated that the confusion might have arisen because of Sharat Varma. He said, “He is a very close friend and almost like a brother to me! But I never thought that people would confuse him with Sharath Mandava”. Sharath (Mandava) will be directing the Tamil remake of the film and said that 60 percent of the script has been altered.
